Every Friday young people are chanting „You are stealing our future!" and demanding immediate actions against the progressing climate change and his disastrous consequences. They want to prevent the apocalypse. At the same time, millions of spectators in the cinemas are watching apocalyptic movies with a mix of fear and pleasure.
In the performance "Silicon Delphi – a journey into the heart of time" the theatre collective "raststättentheater" examines this mix of fear and pleasure sensed towards the end of the world and therefore lets a bourgeois family sink into the turmoil of apocalypse. The world is coming to an end and you are watching live! And then? What is coming after the apocalypse? A new, better world? Not really.
As the family as if by magic survives, the three protagonists find a virtual beach in the midst of a burned planet earth. Being a bourgeois holiday dream coming true at first sight, this place turns out as a prison. Detached from the world time the three survivors are being thrown back on themselves and haunted by blurry memories and echos from the past world.
